God’s vision has saving power

God’s vision has saving power!!

Pro 29:18 says, Where there is no vision, the people perish;

This verse in the bible which is such a wonderful verse if understood properly, is sometimes interpreted in such a way that it produces a sense of fear of failure in many Christians because they find themselves without a vision and think if they do not have a vision they will fail. I think you will agree with me when I say that I don’t think this verse was written to make us fearful when God Himself says so many times to us “Fear not”!

Confusion arises when we try to understand scripture based on our understanding or knowledge acquired by us from the worldly way of thinking. So when we say that someone has a vision we mean that that person has set a goal for his life ort he has thought on how his life should look like in the coming future. And to achieve that goal or to fulfil his vision he plans his time, moves step by step, disciplines himself, etc. And we have hundreds of example of people who have achieved or fulfilled their goal or vision. My question to you then is that if that person is an unbeliever, will he not perish just because he has had a vision and successfully achieved it? Does his vision save him from eternal death? You will agree that the answer to this question is negative. Then the 2nd question is this that if that person is a believer has his vision or we can say has his work for God saved him? Again you will agree that the answer to this question is also in the negative. It is only the finished work of Jesus Christ which saves us from perishing or eternal death.

Joh 3:16 says, “….That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.”

The vision that saves us is His vision to redeem us. Praise God that He has revealed the vision of our redemption by which man will not perish, in Jesus Christ, so that we may not perish and have eternal life by believing in Him.

God’s vision for mankind is that none should perish and for that He revealed Himself in His Son Jesus and gave Him to save us. So, where and when people do not have redemptive revelation of God (VISION), they do not see (vision) God for who He is in Jesus Christ, and then they perish.

SO our saving vision is God Himself. And when we follow Him as co- labourers He fulfils His vision through us and many others do not perish.

Because we have a VISION– that is a revelation knowledge of God, so as believer we start our spiritual journey with God, glorifying Him, beholding Him, loving Him, worshiping Him, knowing that His Grace is sufficient for us, and knowing that it is His grace that works in us.

Php 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.

God puts His desire in our hearts and He does the work. That’s why Paul says in

1Co 15:10 …yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

So our beloved brother and sister in Christ, let not this verse terrify you. Let not your man made vision lead you. But be led by God. And see His vision being fulfilled through you.

Rejoice in the Joy of the LORD

As we journey through life sometimes we face difficult situations and go through periods of depression and frustration. Even then because we know that the joy of the Lord is our strength ( Neh 8:10), we try to maintain our joy and rejoice. Also we read about Paul and Silas who rejoiced in their hour of darkness and inspired by them we try to do the same but if we are honest we will admit that often it’s difficult to do so.

This is because our focus is on the actions of rejoicing (praising, singing etc) instead of the reason which produces the action .Trying to forcibly rejoice brings no change in the state of our heart (maybe momentarily we feel happy) or our situation.

But our understanding of the reason for rejoicing will produce joy in our hearts which will then cause us to rejoice expressed by our actions. It’s not vice versa. Our actions don’t have power.

If we read Neh 8:10 we will see it does not say that my joy is my strength. but “ the Joy of the Lord is my strength !!”

What is the joy of the Lord?

This Joy is can be seen in Zephniah3:17 where it says The LORD your God is in the midst of you a mighty One, a Saviour-Who saves! He will rejoice over you with joy; He will rest (in silent satisfaction) and in his love, He will be silent and make no mention ( of past sins , or even recall them): He will exult over you with singing. Halleluah!

See the joy of the Lord is His work of salvation, His promises and His love for you which comes out of His being not your doing.

During difficult circumstances there may be times when it is hard to do joyful actions. The devil tries to condemn us by questioning the love of God for us and telling lies about His true nature. We must remember that God is rejoicing over us with joy because of the finished work of Jesus on the cross. And He is resting in His love for us because He is satisfied by the work of His Son. When we are sure about the truth that God is with us then in midst of any circumstance, even if we have to walk through the valley of the shadow of death we will fear no evil. And the truth that He is rejoicing and having joy over us leads us out of the valley of depression and doubt to the mountain of joy and faith. His perfect Love casteth out our all fear. And we don’t have to force ourselves to do joyful action or make a joyful noise to the Lord but our knowing of His Joy compels us to rejoice with Him.. An unstoppable celebration begins in our heart.

As a result faith starts operating in our lives and we come out of every problem and keep celebrating with our Father Jehovah Nissi.

In spite of any situation we can continually participate in His joy, because no one can steal His joy and love for us.

Rom 8:38-39 says, “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord”
Nothing can steal His love for you.

Do not fall into the subtle trap of trusting your work and your actions of faith. Your focussing at the wrong place may cause you to miss the “Joy of the Lord which is your strength . Allow your restless soul to rest in Him and His Love.

You know that having the joy of the Lord will cause you to rejoice in the Lord. That is why the Bible speaks about rejoicing in the Lord in so many places as if it was a command. Your joy is dependent upon your knowing and not upon your circumstances.

It is the privilege of Christians to rejoice always, not at certain periods and at distant intervals, but at all times they may rejoice that there is a God and Saviour – in his promises, and in communion with him. The Christian, therefore, may be, and should be, always a happy man. If everything else changes, yet the Lord does not change; if the sources of all other joy are dried up, yet this is not; and there is not a moment of a Christian’s life in which he may not find joy in the character, and promises of God.

God has given us reasons’ for’ rejoicing so that we can rejoice ‘in’ Him even if there are no reasons in our circumstances to rejoice.

We can greatly rejoice in the LORD, our soul can be joyful in our God; for he has clothed us with the garments of salvation, He has covered us with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.[ Isa 61:10]

We can rejoice in our Lord always in spite of any situation since there is joy of Salvation in our God. There is fullness of joy in God’s presence; at His right hand there are pleasures for evermore.[ Psa 16:11 ]

Salvation is THE reason that we can rejoice for. Psa 106:4-5 says, “Remember me, O LORD, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation; That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.”

And salvation is the fulfilment and assurance of His promise of being with us forever.

Our forced actions of joy does not force God to work in our lives, instead His Mighty Works force us to rejoice. Only we should continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel.

God’s Love is the living seed revealed in God’s Word [The Incorruptible Fruit bearing seed for God’s Garden]

Dear Beloved in Christ! My wife and I are Bible teachers who teach the goodness of God shown in His unconditional Love and Grace. During ministry when we share what we teach often we get a similar type of response from many people – “Yes we know that God loves everyone”. This response is great if there is enthusiasm and curiosity to know more but what here I am talking about those dull responses which create a question that are they really knowing that God’s Love is the only message of the Bible or are they just taking it as one among many other messages of the Bible.

Why I have mentioned this experience here is that I don’t want that just by reading the title (God’s Love) even if these type of thoughts come to your mind that “O I know this” or “I have read or heard about this many times before”, you will still read further and will not miss many precious life sustaining and fruit bearing seeds.

Beloved we are God’s garden and vineyard and field under cultivation. [1 cor 3:9 Amp], and Bible says in 1Pe 1:23 (Kjv), “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.”

Beloved what is this God’s Word referred here as seed. Is it every text written in Bible?

All Scriptures are God – inspired and part of a unique plan of salvation but in parts different parts have different purposes. By sowing randomly any scripture in our heart it’s hard to become as fruitful as we desire to be. This is the mistake that we make out of ignorance many times.

Actually God’s Love is that mighty seed hidden in scripture which has the power to break the hardest heart.[Rom 2:4]. When we grasp and comprehend the revelation of His Love in His Word with the help of the Holy Spirit – that is the seed which indeed bears fruit and yields in one case a hundred times as much as was sown, in another sixty times as much, and in another thirty.

When we all were dead then His love (1 John 4:9, song of song 8:6) was the seed that sprouted forth God’s life in our heart and made us His living garden. When we sow this seed in our heart, with the passing of time the seed springs up and God’s life start growing in our heart (His garden); First the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.

Love is not one of the characters of God instead it is Who He is – God is Love (1 John 4:8,16)

The fruit that the Bible is talking about is Love [Mat 22:36-39, 1 john 3:14].Which also confirms His Love as the one and only Seed, because we know that fruit and seed are always same. And this is not the general love as the world knows. God’s Love is Agape (Unconditional Love) and He is the only source of this type of Love, so we can say this love or fruit can’t be produced by self – effort. When we try to produce it by our own effort we come up with weak ones which wither
away.

This is what happens when we see the commandment to love and start trying to do that by our own effort. We see good results for some time but very soon the fruits dry up. We start seeing failures and start making some good excuses like – “we are human beings… We are trying our best to find and workout our shortcomings..” In the end many times nothing works and we get screwed up. But many times the problem is not sowing fruitful seeds in our field (heart).

Let me try to explain this in short.

Suppose there is someone who has hurt us and thinking of him brings thoughts of hatred into our heart. But by thinking of him in this way we are sowing seeds of hatred in your heart. And as a Christian we may think I HAVE TO love this person to make my Father happy. Because we are compelling ourselves we are sowing seeds of compulsion or fear into our heart.

After sowing these unfruitful seeds we try to bring out fruit of love in our effort to fulfil the commandments of our Heavenly Father. The intention or motive may be correct but the Bible says in proverbs 4:23 that “keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life”. Thus unfruitful seeds bring out unfruitfulness or failure in our self efforts.

There is a Biblical way of fulfilling His commandment of love. If we have such a person in our life, instead of thinking about his wrong doings we can think about God’s love for us even when we were not lovable. His Love for us never fails even when we fail. His Love for us never changes even when we change for the worse. God so loved us that He gave His only begotten Son for us, that we should not perish, but have everlasting life by believing in Him. Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

By meditating on this Truth we are sowing seed of God’s Love in our heart (God’s garden) and His life will sprout out of us which can love even the biggest sinner of the world. Then we will be able to love that person with God’s love which will flow out of us effortlessly. His commandment will be fulfilled without self effort. That’s why Paul says, “Not I but Christ lives in me”

I will encourage us that instead of waiting to practice this when we will have someone like this start sowing seed of God’s Love in our heart by meditating on His love for us. And with the passes of time Tree of God’s life hidden in the seed that we have been sowing will spread into all the corners of our heart. And only Love will come out of the abundance of our heart.

So beloved let us keep praying according to Eph 3:14-19 : For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.

Thank You Jesus.

Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever.
